WORKING VISIT OF UN UNDER SEC GEN TO BAYELSA STATE

GOVERNMENT SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT
The United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator, Baroness Valerie Amos will be embarking on a 2-day working visit to Bayelsa State from Friday, 14th to Saturday, 15th of June, 2013.
The itinerary of the visit, which is on the invitation of the State Government, is as follows:
Friday, June 14th, 2013
2.00pm UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator and her entourage arrive Bayelsa State and received by the Secretary to Government, Professor Edmund Allison Oguru and other Top Government Functionaries.
2.30pm Courtesy Call on His Excellency, Hon. Seriake Dickson, Governor of
Bayelsa State
2.40pm – 3.30pm Visit to Imiringi Community and some other flood affected areas
within the State
3.30pm – 5.30pm Town Hall Meeting with at Ijaw House, Yenagoa to be attended
With Stakeholders/Representatives of affected communities /
heads of flood ravaged areas of the State, Local Government
Chairmen, Infrastructural Advisory committee, Post flood
Committee, Royal Fathers, Governor’s Representatives in the 8
LGAs, Chairmen of the 32 Rural Development Areas in the State,
BDIC, Hon. Commissioners of Environment, Local Government and
Community Development, Special Adviser to the Governor on
Emergency Relief, Special Adviser to the Governor on
Environment, Special Adviser to the Governor on Local
Government, BDIC (Bayelsa Development Investment Company).
Also to attend are: Reps of UN, INGOS and the implementing agencies,
NEMA and Ministry of Budget and Planning.
7.30pm – 9.30pm State Banquet in her Honour
Saturday, 15th, June, 2013
7.30am Breakfast / Media Chat with His Excellency, the
Governor
8.30am Departure
