The Bayelsa State Government has expressed its commitment to the development of youths in the state with the presentation of an 18-seater bus to the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) Bayelsa State Chapter.

Speaking while handing over the vehicle to a representative of the council at the Ministry of Transport, Governor Seriake Dickson said the bus would go a long way in enhancing its activities.

While calling on the youth body to use the bus judiciously and give utmost care to its maintenance, the Governor noted that the gesture was an affirmation that the restoration government would ensure the welfare of youths in the state.

Represented by the Commissioners of Transport, Mrs Marie Ebikake and Youth Development, Mr. Salo Alamieyeseigha, Hon. Dickson commended the Youth Council for its support to his administration.

He also lauded the efforts of Restoration Youth Network, (REYNET) for its role in making the day a reality.

According to them, the Governor has the interest of the youths at heart and will continue to ensure that they become an integral part of his administration.

Responding, the vice chairman of the state chapter of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Alhaji Yakubu Boleigha, appreciated the donation of the vehicle, stating that it would enhance mobility of the members.

Alhaji Boleigha promised to utilize the bus effectively, which he stated would help in achieving set goals of the council.
