29 October 2013.
The Bayelsa State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Anapurere Awoli has commended the State Governor, Hon. Seriake Dickson for the attention given to the health sector.
The Commissioner gave the commendation while speaking to newsmen shortly after an inspection tour to some health project sites.
According to Dr. Awoli, the Governor has always said he would not play politics with the health of the citizenry, hence his attention to the sector.
He said the various projects being embarked upon by this Administration in the sector is a manifestation of the governor’s desire to turn around the health sector.
The inspection tour took the Commissioner to Southern Ijaw Local Government Area and Yenagoa Local Government Area, where he inspected the referral hospital under construction in Tombia as well as the hostel block, lecture theatre and the administration buildings at the School of Nursing in Tombia.
Dr. Awoli, who expressed satisfaction with the level of work at both project sites, urged the contractors to maintain the tempo, stressing that the target date for commissioning of the projects is the second administration of the administration.
The Commissioner was accompanied on the tour by the ministry’s engineer, Mr. Isaac Alazigha.
