Bayelsa State Government has ordered some contractors, whose jobs at the NYSC permanent Orientation Camp at Kaiama in Kolokuma/Opokuma Local Government Area, are considered as unacceptable, to discontinue work immediately.

Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Mr. Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo gave the order during an inspection of some project sites within and outside Yenagoa, the state capital.
Commenting on the affected contractors, Mr. Ewhrudjakpo said that two of them, Osiri Technicals, handling a two-storey hostel block, should discontinue the casting of the tie beams and cronies while ACI Concept Limited should outrightly stop work until its Managing Director reports to site to personally supervise the job.
The Commissioner, who noted that the two companies defaulted in the area of quality of the form and iron works, used the opportunity to invite all the contractors handling jobs at the NYSC Orientation Camp to a crucial meeting in his office.
At Toru Orua, the contractor handling the Angalabiri-Toru Orua link road, Zerock was directed to increase the pace of work to meet the target completion date and hand-over to end users.
Similarly, at the Sagbama-Ekeremor-Agge road project site, the Works and Infrastructure Commissioner invited the contractor, Dantata Sawoe to a meeting in the ministry for discussions on the alignment of the road.
At the Igbogene Glory Drive, he directed the contractor to commence the launching of the bridge beams without further delay.
Speaking on the outcome of the inspection, Mr. Ewhrudjakpo said the projects are all on course and that a good number of the contractors performed impressively.
