Governor of Bayelsa State, Seriake Dickson over the weekend admonished public officers to find time to contemplate and see the vast authority of the Almighty God and the role they can play to make the society a better place.

The Governor, who gave the charge at the November, 2014 edition of Bayelsa State Monthly Praise Night at the King of Glory Chapel in Government House, Yenagoa, expressed shock and disbelief over the alarming rate of bomb blasts in some parts of the country, particularly the recent attack on Kano, calling for prayers for the administration of Dr. Goodluck Jonathan and the sustenance of Nigeria’s democracy.

While prophesying that Nigeria will overcome the machinations of the enemy and their collaborators, Governor Dickson asserted that any man, who assumes the place of God, his end is near even as God gives a long rope for the evildoer to repent.

Commenting on the outcome of the State PDP Assembly primaries, he congratulated those, who emerged victorious in the elections and the efforts of the security agencies for the peaceful conduct of the primaries, advising Bayelsans to eschew violence in all future elections.

The Governor also advised losers to take it in good faith, adding that, Bayelsans should not allow themselves to be used against the state to perpetrate violence.

According to him “I will never abuse power because power is of God; one should be humble even in power. A person, who worships God and believes in him always, is a weapon of mass destruction.

“No amount of blackmail, propaganda, and plot will derail the state on the path of development, adding that the state will continue to be stable and be a pillar of support for Mr. President.

“God will put to shame all the detractors of the state as my government will not derail because the government had been handed over to God”.
Chaplain, King of Glory Chapel, Rev. Dotimi Egbegi, who delivered the sermon titled: “Looking unto Jesus” from the book of Hebrew 12 : 2 – 3 admonished Bayelsans to see Jesus as the author and finisher of their faith in every situation they find themselves, just as Jesus did when he was in distress and God saw him through.

Emphasizing on the need for thanksgiving and praise to God, Rev.Egbegi said praises give life just as thanksgiving brings productivity to those who indulge in it.

Highpoint of the praise night was Choir ministration from the King of Glory Chapel Choir, the Jubilee Voices of Greater Evangelism World Crusade and Elder Dempster.
